Welcome from Thorsten Quakernack

Dear Rotarians, Friends, and Supporters,
As we move through another exciting Rotary year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful activities, fellowship, and service that have filled our club calendar over the past few weeks.
We have enjoyed a diverse and inspiring programme. Our members gained valuable insights during the presentation "Diving into a World of IT & AI," exploring how technology and artificial intelligence continue to shape our future. We also shared a fantastic afternoon together at our Family BBQ in Pykni Forest, strengthening the friendships and fellowship that make Rotary so special.
A particular highlight was Jake's presentation about his Europe4Europe journey, which gave us a fascinating first-hand account of his experiences and the impact of this remarkable initiative. We also came together in support of Rotary's global fight against polio during our World Polio Day Quiz Night, which combined fun, fellowship, and fundraising for a cause that remains at the heart of Rotary's mission.
Looking ahead, we have a number of important events planned. Our first Christmas fundraising event will be the Christmas Market in Polemi on 8 November, and I encourage everyone to support what promises to be a wonderful community day. Members are also invited to attend the "Development of Family Business" presentation organised by AUB Mediterraneo on 6 November in Paphos. Later in the month, we look forward to welcoming our District Governor for the official club visit on 23 November.
This weekend, our President, Timo, is taking on an impressive challenge by cycling around Cyprus. We wish him every success and look forward to hearing about his adventure and achievements upon his return.
The summer months brought many visitors to our club, and it has been particularly encouraging to welcome several prospective new members. The interest shown in our club is a testament to the welcoming atmosphere, meaningful projects, and strong friendships that define Rotary Paphos Aphrodite.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to every member, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve make everything we achieve possible. Together, we continue to make a positive difference in our local community and beyond.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Yours in Rotary,
Thorsten
