As we wrap-up 2020, I want to thank you for your contributions to our club and Rotary International. This year brought exciting but also challenging changes and new growth to our club. It was a thrill to experience. Here are some highlights (from the last six months alone!):
- Welcomed 6 new members (and we might have some more to induct in 2021!).
- Contributed Euro 46,000 to the Rotary Square and saved jobs and secured incomes
- Members contributed more than Euro 1,500 to our projects.
- Tree planting project
- Supported the Covid 19 Cyprus Rotary project
- Supported the Help for Beirut, Cyprus Rotary project
- Donated and helped Cyprus Helpers with food for needy families
- Donated and collected money for ‘Hugs with Love’
- Collected money for a Shelterbox
- Monthly articles in the local press
- New website and Club Management system
- Monthly newsletter for members and friends
- Great Summer meetings in August
- Fun fellowships at Tsangarides, Casa Mesapilea, Picnic in the Forest
- Interesting Speakers (Swedish Ambassador, Cyprus Helpers, Claire P.)
I am so thankful for each and every one of our club members and your individual contributions, whether that be time, talent or treasure (and sometimes all three!).
2021 is an opportunity to renew our commitment to both Rotary and our fellow Rotarians. Participate in a project. Considering signing up our projects and make monthly contributions. And of course, I challenge everyone to bring a friend (or two. . . or five) to a club meeting, Zoom meeting or event this year and share the magic of Rotary with others.
I encourage any prospective members receiving this message to resolve to “do good” in 2021 by joining the Rotary International family. No other organization can offer you the opportunity to make a real difference both locally and internationally, while strengthening your business networking and offering you the fellowship of the extended Rotary family.
