In December last year the Paphos Aphrodite Rotary Club decided again to support Shelterbox (https://www.shelterbox.org/) and our club donated Euro 500 to this worthwhile charity.
In 2012, ShelterBox became Rotary International’s first Project Partner and remains the only disaster relief charity.
As you can see our club has supported Shelterbox for many years:
2006 our Box went to Islamabad, Pakistan
2010 our Box went to Haiti - For those made homeless by the devastating earthquake
2014 our box helped in the below destinations:
- Pakistan - To assist those affected by flooding.
- Niger - To assist those affected by conflict.
2020 the donated money will help Shelterbox in several countries
Right now, more than 113 million people around the world have been made homeless by disaster and conflict. We’re working to change this.
By providing emergency shelter and tools for families robbed of their homes by disaster, we’re transforming despair into hope.
We want to see a world where no family is left without shelter after disaster.
