“100,000 Trees in Paphos” is a citizen’s initiative aiming at mobilizing, local authorities, the Forestry Department and institutions to facilitate a massive tree- planting project in 2020 - 2021 with the Paphos Aphrodite Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Toronto Bay Bloor, Canada.

Paphos, is already facing the effects of global warming in the form of extended heatwave periods. Scientific projections are sketching a very unpleasant picture for the future with rising temperatures and a process of desertification reshaping the Cypriot landscape in the next few decades. There is a scientific consensus that reforestation can help combat climate change, soil corrosion and desertification and significantly reduce temperatures in urban environments. We do not wish to sit back and watch the effects of climate change destroy our habitats and make life on the island unbearable.

One tree costs between Euro 3 to Euro 10.

Buy a tree as a present for family and/or friends.

We would like to sponsor at least one Shelterbox in this Rotary year. One Shelterbox costs Euro 590 please help us to raise funds.

The way in which we deliver aid to families varies with every disaster, but our ShelterBox is at the heart of what we do.

Packed with many of the aid items above, and more, it represents our practical approach and symbolises the opportunity we have, together with our supporters, to transform lives.

Our sturdy green ShelterBox is an essential part of our aid range, and not just for storage. We’ve seen families use it as a work bench, a wardrobe, a seat, and even a crib!

Your support provides shelter that protects families from burning heat, bitter cold, dangerous animals and disease, and so much more.

A shelter creates a space where families can have privacy from the rest of the world, where they can feel safety and security in being together.
